Autoclave tape can be used in 121°C pre-vacuum sterilizers. Stripes turn dark brown/black after exposure to steam or chemical vapor sterilization conditions, thus providing identification of processed items. Tan to medium brown indicator stripes may indicate sterilization process, re-sterilization of item is recommended.
